This small program is a plugin that allows you to run SWF files (which can contain animations or applets) that allow for diferent degrees of interactivity and function, like for instance audio, video and many different possible forms of interaction in your web browser .
There are currently versions available for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista, Mac OS X (Intel), Macintosh OS X (PowerPC), Linux x86, Solaris, and is compatible with different web browsers like: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Netscape, and more.
This release introduced: support of GIF and PNG images, new video codecs, improved runtime performance, live filters such as blur and drop shadow, file upload and download capabilities, crisp pixel-perfect text rendering, and new security features.
A problem with this Player is that under certain configurations the application has the potential to compromise its users' internet privacy
